Driving Tips
- N4 toll route from Johannesburg to Malelane is the fastest southern access. Carry cash/card for toll plazas.
- Fuel up before entering — petrol stations inside the park are at main camps only and can have queues.
- Arrive early — gate queues build on long weekends. Aim to be at the gate 30 minutes before opening.
- Speed limits start at the gate: 50 km/h tar, 40 km/h gravel inside the park.
Day Visitors
You do not need camp accommodation to visit Kruger. Day visitors pay conservation fees at the gate and must exit before closing time.
- • Crocodile Bridge and Malelane are popular for day trips from Komatipoort and Nelspruit.
- • Pre-book day visits online via SANParks during peak periods.
